My first day off

After 6 amazing but physically and mentally draining days I had a whole Saturday free to get off Haad Tien Bay. I enjoyed breakfast with some people from class at The Sanctuary. The salmon and spinach benedict was excellent. The iced coffee was some of the strongest I've ever had.
The seas were calmer today compared to the last few days and 300/Baht later I was in Haad Rin beach. I departed my friends and discovered my ATM cash withdrawals amount cannot exceed $500 US dollars a day. Unfortunately I needed double that to make it to the end of the trip.
After downloading Skype and loading $5 I called the collect number on my debit card and I was back in business. Paper in hand I rented a scooter and made off for the Northwest side of the island. I got a much needed massage at Haad Saalad beach and swam in the calm waters.
After a couple hours I was off to grab some more shirts and another pair of board shorts. I stopped and my favorite restaurant on the island, Mama Pooh's. Authentic, tasty and inexpensive eats always welcomed.
After a scrumptious meal I made my way back to Haad Rin. I met up with a bunch of people from class to share a water taxi back to our little bay. Actually it was very relieving seeing my home when we rounded the bend. It's such a peaceful place. Shanti indeed.
